1/2 C minced onion
2/3 C flour
1 tsp dry mustard
1 tsp paprika
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp salt
1 (10 3/4 oz) can chicken broth
4 C milk
1 (12 oz) can beer
3 C finely shredded sharp cheddar cheese (12 oz)

melt butter in large kettle; sauté onion until soft. Blend in flour and seasonings; gradually stir in broth, milk and beer. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a boil; boil and stir 1 minute. Stir in cheese; heat and stir until smooth.

1 chopped onion
1 C. celery chopped
8 C. water
1C. flour
1 stick butter/margarine
3 carrots chopped and cooked
1 can drained mushrooms
9 chicken boullion cubes
1 C. whipping cream
Sauté onions, celery, mushrooms in butter and coat with flour.
To wild rice, add water and boullion cubes. Add coated vegetables and whipping cream.
